You can help them by breaking the goal down to smaller chunks and work backwards in time. You can use the following time-frames by dividing the lengths of time in half: e.g. if the goal is 5 years away, then use 3 years, 1 year, 6 months, 3 months, 1 month, 1 week and today to explore the next action the client can take.
